Our first house was granted to Mrs. Hai, a blind lady who is 83 years old, and her daughter Ms. Tu, who is deaf and mute and 56 years old.
The construction began on February 16th, 2008 and ended on March 10th, 2008. The total cost of the construction was $2.700USD and that included building material, labor and some furniture. The estimated cost was to $2.000USD but we decided to add an indoor bathroom and a kitchen to the original plans.
The house was finished 4 days ahead of the plans and $165USD were given to the workers as performance incentive.

November 9, 2008 - Today we went to visit Mrs. Hai and Ms. Tu who received the first house in March 2008. It was a wonderful day and everyone was very happy. We also gave out some of the reading glasses that Lions Club of Chesterton had donated.
LHP will update the kitchen on their house while I am here, we will add a stove with chimney to help keep the smoke out of the house since they cook with wood.
November 20, 2008 - Today I got to visit Mrs. Hai and Ms. Tu (LHP#1) to arrange the installation of her new stove and chimney. I love to go there and I am welcomed as one of the family. While there, we gave out more of the reading glasses donated by the Lions Club of Chesterton, such a little thing as reading glasses really make for some happy folks here.
