Projects:

Loving House Project’s fourth house was given to Ms. Yen. When Ms. Yen was 18 years old she was severely burned living her with excessive scarring on her face and body. Over the last 5 years American Plastic Surgeons have repaired much of the damage caused by her accident.
Loving House Project built her a house, a place where she will live and make a living running her small sewing business, to secure her future.

Ms. Yen’s Loving House started being built on November 8th and was completed on December 3, 2008 at a cost of $2,515 USD.

November 15, 2008 - The path to Ms. Yen’s house is very narrow, just wide enough for a motor bike, but most the materials are now in place so we should catch up quickly.

November 19, 2008 - The house for Ms. Yen is going very good. The walls should be finished today and then the workers will begin to put a cement stucco inside and out. Ms. Yen is helping out every day carrying bricks and doing whatever she can, also three of her brothers have come to help in the building of her house. Her mother is cooking for all the workers and her father is also helping out all the time. It is wonderful to see all the people who want to be part of this project.

November 24, 2008 - Today in the morning I was able to visit Ms. Yen’s house, we are still having problems with the supplier and it is really slowing things down. I have my doubts that it will be finished before I return to the States, Mr. Ho may need to see this one finished.

November 28, 2008 - The houses are all being finished. Ms. Yen’s house was lagging behind but today, Dr. Lien talked to the contractor and has assured me that it will be done on time.

December 3, 2008 - A small ceremony was held today and Ms. Yen was given the Deed of her new house. Ms. Yen’s mother was holding my hands and crying during the whole ceremony. All the neighbors came to share the great joy of this day.
